Laser Dentistry for Kids
Lasers in dentistry allow us to treat a variety of dental issues with minimally invasive techniques. This results in reduced pain, less bleeding, faster recovery, and fewer appointments.
SOLEA® Dental lasers emit beams of concentrated light. This new advance in dental laser technology replaces many of the needles and drills commonly used in the dental office. SOLEA lasers are safe for patients of all ages. We use them for a variety of procedures at our practice and in many cases they eliminate the need for local anesthetics. The SOLEA laser reduces patient anxiety by making dental visits more comfortable.

Is laser dentistry better?
First of all, when we are able to use a laser, there are no needles or numbing of the teeth involved. Laser dentistry is one the most exciting advances in dentistry, particularly for pediatric dentists. We feel that laser dentistry is better because it allows for more precision than traditional dental tools, it’s faster, and recovery is easier. Laser dentistry is better because it eliminates the need for shots, it’s not noisy like a drill, and yes, it’s also pretty cool.
How does the SOLEA dental laser work?
SOLEA is an isotopic CO2 dental laser that produces a unique wavelength to vaporize the tooth’s enamel, unlike other types of dental lasers that vaporize water and slowly chip away at the tooth surface. This makes SOLEA faster and more precise than other types of lasers and also gives it the versatility to work on both soft tissue and hard tissue.
